Permanent residents

We are able to accept registration requests from persons living within our catchment area. Please first check that  your address is within our boundaries by following this link to an address checker. If you live within our catchment area, you can register with Boroughloch Medical Practice using the button below.

When completing your registration form, please provide your full postal address.

Students remember to include your room number, flat and block number or name along with the halls of residence.

Missing details including previous GP Practice or previous postal address will delay us being able to process your registration.

Temporary residents and overseas visitors

Are you a temporary resident, planning to live near Boroughloch Medical Practice for up to three months? If so, you must phone or come into the practice to make your application. But first, please read our special information for temporary residents and for overseas visitors or asylum seekers. Also check that your address lies within our catchment area.

Information for temporary residents

You can register temporarily with a GP near where you’re staying if you’re ill or need medical advice while you’re away from home – for example, if you’re working, studying or on holiday.

You’ll stay registered with your permanent GP, but you can see your temporary GP for up to three months. After three months you will have to apply to register with as a permanent resident so if you plan to live here for over three months please register as a permanent resident. Please note, charges may apply for this service if you are visiting from outside the European Union.

Please have the following information with you when you see your temporary GP for the first time:

– details of any medical conditions
– details of medical conditions you’ve had in the past
– the name of any medicines you’re currently taking
– details of any allergies
– contact details for your permanent or previous GP
– proof of personal identification
– address and telephone number for your temporary place of residence

Information for overseas visitors

If you are an overseas student, asylum seeker, or an overseas worker, please check your entitlement to NHS Services against the appropriate section in the website entitled Healthcare for Overseas Visitors. You will be required to provide the identification requested.

Unable to Register?

If you are unable to register with the Practice, please view extra guidance from NHS Inform.

Change of contact details

For existing patients, if you have changed your postal address, email or telephone number through AskMyGP, please additionally inform us via ASkMyGP in a separate message. This will enable our Practice to update the contact details on your medical record.  Updating your details on AskMyGP does not automatically update your medical record.
